Contract Parapet Inspector — NYC Local Law 126

ABOUT THE ROLEWe are an NYC-based parapet inspection and compliance company launching to serve property managers and building owners under Local Law 126. We are building a roster of qualified contract inspectors to conduct annual parapet wall observations across all five boroughs.This is a per-inspection contract role — ideal for architects, engineers, licensed home inspectors, or experienced construction professionals looking to supplement their income with flexible, well-compensated field work. There is no minimum commitment; we schedule inspections based on your availability.WHAT YOU'LL DO- Conduct visual observations of parapet walls fronting public rights-of-way in compliance with NYC LL126- Assess masonry condition: cracking, spalling, mortar deterioration, plumbness, coping stones, and flashing- Evaluate appurtenances including railings, signage, antennas, and fire escape attachments- Capture organized, annotated photographs by building elevation- Complete our standardized digital inspection checklist in the field via mobile app- Flag unsafe conditions immediately so we can coordinate DOB notification within the required 24-hour windowWHO WE'RE LOOKING FORYou qualify if you hold one or more of the following:- New York State licensed architect (RA) or registered engineer (PE)- New York State licensed home inspector- Substantial hands-on experience in building construction, maintenance, or inspection (e.g., construction manager, site supervisor, former DOB inspector)Beyond credentials, we're looking for someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable working at height, reliable with fast turnaround expectations, comfortable using a mobile app in the field, and familiar with NYC's building stock.COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS$150–$200 per completed inspection, paid within 7 days of report submission. Rate depends on building complexity. You set your own availability — no minimum hours required.
