Our agency provides exemplary legal representation for every arm of the State, fights human trafficking, helps victims of crime, protects our constituents, and runs the most effective Child Support Enforcement program.We are seeking a midlevel Backend Developer with a strong foundation in Java, SQL, and interface development to support the modernization, enhancement, and integration of enterprise applications. OAG employees enjoy excellent benefits (https://ers.texas.gov/Benefits-at-a-Glance) along with tremendous opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend services, APIs, and system interfaces supporting enterprise level applications.Develop high quality Java based components, leveraging secure coding practices, structured design patterns, and maintainable code principles.Build and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data access layers that ensure reliable data integration and exchange.Participate in integration development efforts, including API design, data interchange, and orchestration using preferred platforms (Talend Cloud, MuleSoft).Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including application defects, integration failures, and data inconsistencies.Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide accurate estimations, contribute to sprint delivery, and support continuous improvement activities.Performs related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule.
