Phlebotomist

The primary function of the Phlebotomist is to obtain blood specimens from patients as ordered by the licensed healthcare provider, label the specimen appropriately and distribute to the laboratory department for testing, The Phlebotomist is knowledgeable in all aspects of the pre-analytical phase of laboratory testing including specimen rejection criteria, This position maintains the inventory of supplies required for specimen collection and disposes specimen collection needles and supplies safely, The Phlebotomist assists laboratory technologists and clerical staff and also utilizes multiple computer systems in the performance of phlebotomy, Education/ Training/ Certification/ Licensure: High school diploma, Phlebotomy certification preferred, 1 year of direct experience in a healthcare environment preferred, Essential Functions Collect blood specimens following appropriate protocol, entering orders, accessioning specimens and assisting lab technologists, Answering phones and inquiri...Phlebotomist, Specimen, Healthcare
