Team members are encouraged to contribute to process improvement and high standards of clinical excellence.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Physician Assistant role based in Fresno, CA. The Physician Assistant will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, obtain histories, perform focused physical exams, and document findings in the medical record. Daily responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting with spine-focused procedures, and formulating treatment plans under the supervision of a physician. The role involves managing follow-up visits, monitoring patient progress, adjusting care plans, and providing patient education on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and rehabilitation. The physician assistant may also be asked to help in the operating room and round on inpatients as needed. The Physician Assistant will coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, support pre- and post-operative care, and participate in maintaining clinic efficiency, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. The physician assistant may also need to take home Call on weekends.QualificationsActive, unrestricted Physician Assistant license (or eligibility) in the state of California and current NCCPA certification.Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.Clinical experience or strong interest in spine, orthopedics, pain management, neurology, or musculoskeletal medicine.Demonstrated proficiency in conducting histories and physicals, formulating differential diagnoses, and developing evidence-based treatment plans.Comfort with ordering, reviewing, and interpreting imaging and diagnostic studies relevant to spine conditions.Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain complex conditions and treatment options in clear, accessible language.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, while managing time and patient schedules effectively in a busy clinic setting.Basic proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards to ensure accurate, timely clinical notes.Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to applicable regulations and clinical guidelines.CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS certification and prior spine or orthopedic clinic experience are preferred.
