Disaster Responders for Animals
What We DoThough their beloved pets, we help people in crisis! No one should have to choose between feeding their pets or feeding themselves. Empty Bowl Pet Food Pantry helps pet owners facing financial challenges keep the promise they made to their pets to love and care for them forever. Our attention is to special needs groups and gap service areas such as the "new homeless" (lost job or home), the disabled, veterans, seniors and those using assistance/therapy animals. We are a service provider though coalitions such as Arizona Veterans Stand Down, United Way's Project Connect, Hopefest in Phoenix, Prescott and Tucson as well as partners with numerous agency's around Arizona to give pet food/items with their services because people - especially seniors and veterans, will ask for help for their pets, but not for themselves. When we help people return to sustainability, we help the pets long term!We also teach the next generation the right way to care for pets and the humane treatment of animals; that it's not ok to abuse, neglect, starve, abandon or leave pets locked in a foreclosed home or without food or shelter. We go into schools, create afterschool programs, do food drives, and get students, families and groups involved in giving back to their community.,We are gathering in Arizona voluteers interested in volunteering when disasters strile pets and animals.
