Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionCertified Pharmacy TechnicianAdvanced Rx Pharmacy is a physician-owned clinical and compounding pharmacy associated with Advanced Pain Care.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Communicate with physicians, patients, insurance companies on a regular basisReceive refill requests from patients and obtain authorization for refills from physician's officesPrepare various non-sterile compounds including, but not limited to, suspensions, solutions, creams, ointments, suppositories, capsules, etc.Accurately weigh and prepare the ingredients for compound medications according to the designated formula worksheet specifications while following all applicable and appropriate compounding guidelines and quality standardsPackage and label the medications in an appropriate dispensing deviceEnsure the pharmacist on duty has signed off and verified the formulations according to the prescription prior to commencing compound preparationMaintain patient's confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and participate in required training whenever necessaryMust properly control the release of proprietary and confidential informationComply with all record keeping requirements as determined by managementPrepares third-party insurance claims and prepare TARsOrder, receive, and stock prescription drugs & suppliesMaintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy throughout the dayMaintains regular and predictable attendanceAdheres to company policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 18 years of age or olderMinimum of 3 years' experience in high volume pharmaciesMaintains certifications and continuing educational requirementKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to type 35 words per minuteUnderstands and can perform basic pharmaceutical tasksExcellent multi-tasking, accuracy, and attention to detail skillsPrior authorization/insurance experienceState Pharmacy Technician License in good standingAbility to calibrate, utilize, and maintain, delicate pieces of expensive machinery and software to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely mannerStrong oral, verbal and written communication skillsMedisca, Freedom or PCCA compounding training certification desirableCurrent PTCB CertificationFamiliarity with non-sterile compounds preferred WORKING CONDITIONS:Environmental Conditions:Medical Office/Pharmacy environmentPhysical Conditions:Must be able to work as scheduled - typically from 8:00 - 5:00Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to bend, stoop and stretchMust be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.Salary Description
