Job Summary The Catering Assistant will perform work associated with customer service including: event consultation & planning, billing reconciliation and on-site catering event setup and service. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Reviews and confirms client submitted on-line catering orders and delivers food or beverages to guests or other appropriate locations.Job Duty 2 - Meets with clients in person to gather details on upcoming catered events.Job Duty 3 - Assists in event set up of banquet tables, guest tables, buffet linens, or other fixtures.Job Duty 4 - Perform other related duties as assigned.Job Duty 5 - Assists Director of Catering with catering proposal development including menus & event logistics.Job Duty 6 - Participates in Weekly BEO meetings with Catering FoH & BoH Management and acts as a liaison to Georgia Tech's Event Coordinator Network and attends the monthly meeting on behalf of Tech Catering.Job Duty 7 - Produces and maintains menu signage/ item identifiers for events.Job Duty 8 - Registers payment and sends correspondence for all outside orders requiring Credit Card payments through the GT Marketplace portal.Job Duty 9 - Processes billing, post event, by reconciling confirmed guest counts and other catering details to actual event day consumption to ensure accuracy in billing.Job Duty 10 - Responds to inquiries from customers or clients and resolves concerns or discrepancies; handles basic issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsThis position requires a high school diplomaOther Required QualificationsMust have a valid State of Georgia Driver's License and ServSafe certifiedRequired Experience2 or more years of related experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience3 or more years of related experience Proposed Salary $16 - $19 an hour Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIESExperience in the field of hospitality especially university-based catering and/or off-premise catering. Experience with creating personalized catering experiences for small ' medium sized groups. Ability to be creative and adapt in fast-paced environments. Experience with on-line catering ordering systems like Catertrax, Caterease.SKILLSWorkable knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
