Lab Assistant - 3rd shiftLocationMarlborough, MAOnsite FlexibilityOnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: 10 weeksShift / Schedule: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AMPay Rate: $18.63-$23.00 / Hour (USD)Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Job SummaryPerform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production.Key Responsibilities Sort and receive specimens in the departmentPerform routine instrument maintenance on some equipmentPerform laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts), specimen storage and retrievalPrepare reagents and/or media in the departmentPrepare specimens at workstations for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, and slide preparationPerform QA/QC duties as assignedResolve pending listsFind missing samplesDecontaminate work areasPerform weekly radioactive wipe testsMaintain files for department recordsChange gas cylindersFollow all PPE requirements and all safety regulationsUse the laboratory computer system as well as operate PCsDispose of biohazardous materialComplete training and competency checklists as appropriateNote: This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of the work performed by this positionEducation Requirements High school diploma or equivalentMedical assistant training helpfulMath and science courses preferredWork Experience None requiredRequired Skills Ability to establish work priorities and to handle several tasks for maximum workstation efficiencyAbility to retain information once learnedAbility to interact with other coworkers, internal and external customers with courtesy and respectLaboratory procedures and techniquesUse of laboratory computer systems and PCsBiohazard safety and disposal protocolsWork Environment / Physical Requirements Follows all PPE requirements and safety regulationsHandles biohazardous materialPerforms radioactive wipe testsThird shift hours (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM)Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientLeading provider of diagnostic information services empowering healthier lives.
