If you have what it takes to become part of the Vistra family and would like to start a promising career with a global leader, take a look at the exciting employment opportunities that are currently available and apply online.Job SummaryThe Operations Technician is responsible for completing the daily tasks required to operate and maintain facility equipment and systems, as well as outage related maintenance and to maintain efficient and cost-effective facility operations with compliance to all safety and environment regulationsJob DescriptionKey AccountabilitiesMaintain shift operating logs and recordsOperate and monitor plant equipment and systemsPerform regular equipment rounds, taking critical readings from instruments and reports abnormal conditions to the appropriate managerHandle mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections and trouble shooting as assignedAssist in the development of standard operational procedures as assignedFollow safe working practices and identify hazards and follow through on corrective action as approved by ManagementUse Computerized Maintenance Management system to document plant deficiencies, schedule work and order materialsComplete required plant training and assist in the training of othersUnload, handle and transfer bulk chemicals and takes samples for analysis and testingMaintain plant housekeeping and securityPerform other duties as assigned. LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE. Education, Experience, & Skill RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED equivalent required. Trade school, military service or technical school trainingProven mechanical and trouble shooting skillsAbility to work constructively under minimum supervisionAbility to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, be on call and accept call-outs and over time workBasic user PC skills for information processing and managementGeneral knowledge of safety and environmental regulationAbility to operate a fork lift and man-lifts as needed.
