Financial Analyst
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Financial Planning & Analysis professional to play a critical role in driving financial visibility and strategic decision-making within a high-growth Insurtech organization. This role partners closely with Accounting, Sales, Operations, and executive leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, insightful performance analysis, and data-driven recommendations across the business. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced SaaS environments, brings deep expertise in P&L management, forecasting, and financial modeling, and is passionate about transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. This position offers the opportunity to directly influence pricing strategy, forecasting accuracy, and long-term growth through disciplined financial analysis and modern BI and automation tools.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Performance AnalysisOwn and support the monthly close financial analysis process, partnering closely with Accounting to ensure accurate reportingAnalyze monthly results and provide detailed variance analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior periodsMaintain deep visibility into the company P&L, identifying key drivers of revenue, gross margin, and operating expensesBuild and maintain executive-level reporting packages and financial dashboardsEnsure reporting and analysis align with GAAP accounting principlesImplement process improvements in financial close and reporting to enhance operational efficiency, standardize workflows and strengthen reporting accuracyBudgeting, Forecasting & Financial ModelingSupport the development of annual operating plans, budgets, and rolling forecastsBuild and maintain robust financial models to evaluate business performance and future growthDevelop scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic planningPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Leadership to understand financial driversPricing & Unit EconomicsConduct pricing and margin analysis across products, customers, and segmentsAnalyze SaaS unit economics including ARR, gross margin, CAC, and contribution marginSupport pricing strategy through data-driven modeling and financial insightData & Business IntelligenceBuild advanced Excel models and automate reporting where possibleDevelop Power BI dashboards to provide real-time visibility into financial and operational performanceLeverage AI tools and data automation to improve financial analysis and decision supportPresent insights and recommendations clearly to leadership using PowerPointQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field3-6+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or high-growth tech/SaaS financeStrong understanding of P&L management and GAAP accounting fundamentalsExpert-level Excel skills (financial modeling, complex formulas, data analysis, large datasets)Experience building financial models and forecasting frameworksExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI toolsStrong proficiency with PowerPoint for executive presentationsFamiliarity with AI tools, automation, or data analytics is a strong plusWhat Defines Success in This RoleExceptionally analytical and data-drivenAble to move quickly from data ? insight ? recommendationNaturally curious and proactive in identifying financial trends and risksComfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environmentsHigh attention to detail while maintaining strong business judgmentStrong communicator who can translate complex financial information into clear insights for leadershipLI-LM03LI-HybridAbout UsFor over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
