*Job Description:* *Top 5 Required Skills * 1.   Basic Linux command line usage 2.    Basic RF Fundamental knowledge 3.    Fundamental computer hardware knowledge 4.    Team player 5.   Attention to detail *Primary Purpose of Job: * * The Intermediate Engineer Technician provides technical assistance for Test Equipment Systems. * This role is ideal for individuals with foundational technical training or limited prior experience who are looking to gain practical skills in a support environment focused on RF, Linux and TCP/IP networking. * The technician will perform routine tasks, assist with diagnostics, and follow established procedures, with a strong emphasis on learning and adherence to instructions. *Basic Job Requirements:* * Assist in the basic setup and configuration. * Follow detailed instructions to perform routine maintenance tasks on Linux-based systems. * Document observations and steps taken during troubleshooting processes. * Escalate issues to full-time Support Engineers or Associate Support Engineers as directed. * Assist with basic RF cable management and hardware verification. * Perform data entry and record-keeping related to support tickets. * Learn to identify common error messages and basic system behaviors. * Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and operational guidelines. * Participate in on-the-job training and seek clarification when needed. *Skill or Knowledge Level Required:* * Basic Linux Exposure: Familiarity with turning on/off a Linux system, basic navigation in a graphical user interface (GUI) or understanding of simple command-line prompts (e.g., how to open a terminal). * Basic RF Fundamental Knowledge: Understands basic RF terminology and spectrum analysis measurements. * Fundamental Computer Hardware: Ability to identify basic computer components (e.g., CPU, RAM, hard drive, network port). *Education:* * Bachelor's degree or * Associate's degree and 1+ year of Engineering Technician or related work experience or * High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of Engineering Technician or related work experience. * *Optional:* Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or completion of a military technical or trade school program. *Training/Experience Time:* * Completion of a technical vocational program, IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Linux+ Fundamentals), military technical or trade school program, or 2+ years of experience in a technical support or IT-related role. *EEO Employer:* LanceSoft is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and an equal opportunity employer.
