Program Lead
Description:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps and guest groups by helping to plan, prepare, and lead all aspects of the summer camp schedule.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help run camp, guest group, and Community Worship programs with excellence
Complete staff training and follow all camp policies
Stay spiritually and physically fit to minister
Become familiar with campus staff, facilities, and grounds
Oversee, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other staff as part of the summer leadership team
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a vital, growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Lead and support all members of the summer staff team in delivering safe, fun, and excellent summer camp programming by: Building relationships with staff and campers; Planning and leading skits, silly songs, and icebreaker games; Gathering and transporting activity supplies; Equipping support staff to assist and/or lead planned activities.
Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
Run activity sites according to Grace procedures including (but not limited to): Target Sports: Slingshots, archery, BB guns, 22's, shotguns, laser tag; Waterfront: Canoes & kayaks, swimming, blobbing; High Adventure: Climbing tower, ropes course, zipline; Outdoor Activities: Biking, group games; Cooperatives and Teambuilding
Attend all staff meetings
Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
Support Community Worship as assigned
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal
HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates
MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Love for kids and adults and the ability to communicate with them
Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
Willing and teachable attitude
Fun, outgoing personality
Experience with camp programming
Team-based mindset
Lifeguard Certification (not required, training provided)
Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License (preferred, but not required)
