Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information… Position Summary & Responsibilities: Position Summary This Emerging Aviation Analyst (RA IV) position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Division of Aviation. This position reports directly to the Emerging Aviation Program Manager and contributes to the division's objectives through the management or direction of assigned programs related to Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and other emergent aviation technologies, including on/off airport development, community engagement and outreach necessary for the advancement of emergent aviation technologies. Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following Works with consultants; academic institutions; industry; local, state, and federal stakeholders; and airports to research, develop, and implement on and off airport infrastructure improvements focused on enabling and enhancing emerging aviation technology readiness. Researches potential federal and alternative funding sources to assist in project development and implementation. Leads, collects, and conducts research, data analysis, and production of intellectual products related to emerging aviation technology. Benchmarks best practices from other industry organizations and consolidates those practices into a salient program for statewide deployment and monitoring. View the full position description Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered. Valid Driver's License at time of appointment. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience in aviation, especially operating within an airport environment. Aviation knowledge and passion about topics such legacy aviation, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), or other innovative aviation technologies. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public/business administration or project management. Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a succinct and straightforward manner. Ability to interpret complicated matters and present them lucidly to various audiences. Ability to establish and pivot priorities when presented with conflicting demands in a high-dynamic environment. Deal effectively and professionally with officials at all levels of government. Have excellent work management skills to complete multiple tasks under short deadlines. Licensing & Certifications: Licensed pilot, drone pilot, ground instructor, or flight instructor highly desired.
