This is a fantastic team that has a great work/life balance.About the RoleCloudOps Engineer - Infrastructure & Platform Engineering*This is a 100% Remote and full-time opportunity*Clearsense is a healthcare data platform company managing clinical and financial data for large health systems across the United States. As a CloudOps Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in operating, securing, monitoring, and continuously improving the AWS environments that support Clearsense products and regulated healthcare workloads.You will troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, improve reliability through automation and observability, and contribute to consistent operational practices across a multi-account AWS organization. This hands-on engineering role works closely with Platform Engineering, Security, DBA, Application, and Data Engineering teams while identifying opportunities to improve day-to-day cloud operations.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Cloud Operations & ReliabilityMaintain the availability, performance, security, and operational health of production and non-production AWS environments.Troubleshoot infrastructure, platform, performance, and connectivity issues through diagnosis and resolution.Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, on-call rotations, and production change activities.Support backup, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and overall platform resiliency.Infrastructure as Code & AutomationMaintain and improve Terraform-based infrastructure across a multi-account AWS environment.Use Python, Bash, AWS Systems Manager, Lambda, EventBridge, or similar tools to automate operational tasks and remediation.Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure deployment practices.Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve reliability through automation.AWS Platform & ObservabilityBuild and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, OpenSearch, and related tools.Support AWS networking, compute, storage, database, and container environments, including VPCs, RDS/Aurora, S3, EKS, and ECR.Analyze metrics, logs, and resource trends to troubleshoot issues and identify performance or capacity concerns.Security & CollaborationApply AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS encryption, secrets management, audit logging, and network security.Support HIPAA-aligned security and compliance requirements for environments containing PHI.Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, DBA, Application, and Data Engineering teams to improve operational practices and resolve technical issues.Document operational procedures, runbooks, troubleshooting guidance, and technical improvements.Qualifications:Must currently be located in the United States.3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, SRE, DevOps, or production operations, including 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience.Hands-on experience supporting production cloud environments and troubleshooting infrastructure, performance, availability, or connectivity issues.Working experience with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, provider configuration, drift identification, and safe plan and deployment practices.Experience building and operating monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and automated remediation for production workloads.Experience participating in incident response, root-cause analysis, post-incident review, and corrective-action tracking.Working knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, Transit Gateway, NAT, security groups, load balancers, DNS, and VPC endpoints.Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems such as Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar, including short-lived or OIDC-based AWS authentication.Experience with backup, restoration, high availability, disaster recovery, and production change controls.Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Amazon EKS, Docker, ECR, Kubernetes operations, and container security.Experience operating database, storage, or search services such as RDS/Aurora, S3, EFS, FSx, Elasticsearch, or Amazon OpenSearch.Security-minded approach covering IAM least privilege, KMS, secrets management, audit logging, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls.Ability to use Python or Bash for automation and operational scripting.Effective written and verbal communication skills, sound operational judgment, and the ability to collaborate, document work, and follow technical and change-management standards.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in an AWS multi-account environment using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or a Landing Zone architecture.Experience supporting healthcare, financial, or other regulated environments and familiarity with HIPAA-aligned controls and PHI handling requirements.Familiarity with service-level indicators, reliability objectives, capacity planning, game days, or automated recovery testing.AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate, Solutions Architect - Associate, or another relevant AWS certification.Experience applying AI-assisted development and analysis tools responsibly in security-sensitive or regulated environments.Why Join Us:You will have the opportunity to shape how healthcare data moves through our platform at scale.
