Director of Public & Private CloudLocation: Dallas, TX (5 days onsite) Compensation: Highly competitive base salary + bonus + equityThe OpportunityWe are seeking a Director of Public & Private Cloud to lead the strategy and execution of a modern, unified cloud platform across both on‑premise and public cloud environments. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, reporting directly into executive leadership.The right person will bring strong execution capabilities, deep technical credibility, and experience leading large, senior engineering organizations at scale.What You’ll DoOwn and drive the end‑to‑end strategy and execution for both private and public cloud platformsLead a 50–100+ person global organization, including senior managers, directors, and engineering teamsUnify currently siloed private and public cloud functions into a single, coherent internal platformTranslate existing cloud strategy into real delivery and operational outcomesInfluence and guide senior architects and principal engineers without being hands‑on in architectureBuild trust, autonomy, and accountability across a large, established engineering organizationOversee compute, GPU, storage, Kubernetes, and networking platforms across cloud environmentsBalance reliability, scalability, performance, and cost managementChampion modern platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE practicesTechnology EnvironmentPublic cloud: AWS (with exposure to Azure and/or GCP)Private cloud: Kubernetes‑based platforms (upstream Kubernetes and/or OpenShift)Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible, PythonStrong emphasis on open‑source tooling and internal developer platformsGrowing focus on GPU and compute‑intensive workloadsRequired Experience12+ years in cloud, infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering5+ years leading managers and senior technical leaders (not just ICs)Demonstrated ownership of both private and public cloud environments (non‑negotiable)Deep private cloud expertise paired with strong public cloud experience across at least two major providersProven success building internal cloud platforms or self‑service IaaS productsStrong background in networking, security, identity, and distributed systemsKnown as an executor who can drive delivery — not just strategyAbility to earn respect and lead at senior organizational levels
