(Flexible)Times Needed:Availability Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Flexible)Contact Information:Email:Phone: (386)506-3015Key Responsibilities:Tutors' writers at any level of proficiency on any type or stage of writingArrive and begin tutoring sessions daily and on timeWrite post-tutoring reports in TracCloudReview resources as requested or when not seeing clientsActively participate in trainings and meetings by asking questions and brainstorming solutionsBring questions or concerns about sessions to the Associate Director, Coordinator, or Writing SpecialistsAssist the Writing Center staff with other tasks as neededWork on Writing Center relevant projects/task when not tutoringKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Ability to explain writing concepts to help clients improve their communication skillsHave an interest in writing and be familiar with academic writing conventions, including citation styles, grammar, and organizationMust be empathetic, caring, and able to respond to client's anxiety about writingHave fundamental digital literacyPreferably knowledgeable of MS Office, relevant academic software, and DSC technology-based resources like Falcon OnlineMust be in good academic standingMust possess good time management skillsThis position may be subject to a criminal background screening as a condition of employment.If a reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact Human Resources at 386-506-4505 or emailDaytona State College is an Equal Opportunity/Equal Access Employer.
