Your core mission will be oversight of the integrity of the facility, including building systems and equipment, ensuring they are in compliance with safety regulations and standards. You will also be responsible for implementing and refining maintenance and safety programs, coordinating safety training, and performing preventative maintenance tasks. You will find friends here and we encourage you to bring along your friends too!FUNCTIONS OF THE JOBInspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.Plans repair work using building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing doors and other building fixtures.Performs routine maintenance on building systems.Assists with upkeep of the facilities.Manage and coordinates activities of safety programMonitor equipment to ensure safe and effective operation. Develop and ensure adherence to preventative maintenance scheduleMonitor the safety of all departments and ensure adherence to the guidelinesSupport OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirementsDevelop effective health safety plan designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries, accidents, and incidentsAssist OSHA trainings for new and existing employeesMonitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirementsIdentify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplaceHelp develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysisMeasure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuriesConduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practicesEnsure that safety supplies are within expiration dates and plentiful within all departmentsEnsure compliance with Federal, State and Local Laws, rules, and regulationsCommunicate with management and employees in a workplace about processes that don't comply with proceduresRespond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire, and smoke incidents, or unknown hazards; prepare reports of findings and submit recommendationsHandle accident record analysis and issue reports regularlyAnalyze accident and incident reports for trends; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actionsHandles DOT CompliancePerforms other duties as assigned by ManagementRequirementsCompetency Statement(s)Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions, and hold others accountable.Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.Research Skills - Ability to design and conduct a systematic, objective, and critical investigation.Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.Innovative - Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.EducationHS diploma or GED.Skills & AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Self starter with the ability to expand process foundations.Organized with attention to detail.ExperiencePrior experience in the metal or fabrication industry is highly beneficial.Safety and/or maintenance experience are beneficial for the position.Computer SkillsMS Suite, basic computer skills.Certifications & LicensesForklift certification; trainer certification a plusOSHA, or willingness to obtainPhysical RequirementsAbility to wear various forms of PPE.Ability to lift/carry up to and including 51-100 lb.Ability to push/pull up to and including 41-100 lb.BENEFITS In addition to providing you with competitive compensation, our benefits package is pretty impressive!
