Sr VMware System EngineerDenver, COPrimary Responsibilities:• Lead and develop a team of Systems / Cloud Engineers• Consult and interface with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translatethem into technical solutions• Oversee distributed system architecture• Develop and manage product roadmaps• Steer the team to be Agile and efficient by balancing efficiency and innovation• Establishes standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deploymentand maintenance of VMware infrastructure, including backups, upgrade, and automationprocesses• Proactively identify and recommend updates to software or architecture as necessarybefore reaching capacity limitationsA successful Engineering Manager will have the following at a minimum:• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technicaldegree; six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education andexperience• 4 or more years of professional experience in VMware services and tools• Experience with leading a team either through management or as a team lead• Direct experience in bare-metal deployments of VMware infrastructure• Direct experience with building and administering multiple VMware products acrossmultiple remote locations and data centers• 2 or more years experience in programming using one or more of the following: Java,C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, or advanced Shell scriptingPreferred additional experience:• Hands on experience Infrastructure-As-Code, automating deployments, clustermanagement, and systems security within a CI/CD Pipeline• Experience with VMware on Cloud (VMC) on AWS• Experience with VMWARE infrastructure in a very large enterprise environment• Experience in Kubernetes regarding containers / Microservices principles
