Travel Medical-Surgical RN - Overflow Unit - $2,286 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts or day/night rotation • Weekend shifts scheduled as needed, typically 1/2 of total weekends • Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7 (must be comfortable with 1:7 ratio) • 30-bed medical surgical unit in acute care setting • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS • Navy blue scrubs required • Floating requirements based on census, external travelers float first • No standby or call requirements • Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract • EPIC charting system • BSN not required • Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission • Work within 50-mile radius rule • Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI • Unit has PCTs (patient care technicians) available • Responsibilities include titrating heparin drips based on aPTT results • Telemetry monitoring available, watched remotely by monitor techs • Intermittent BiPAP equipment available (no ventilators) • One charge RN on floor with patient assignment Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing acute care services to patients with various medical conditions.
