Senior Tools Support Engineer - Tool Customization, Support & Configuration

Job Summary: In this position, you will be reporting to Direct Delivery (DPO COE) organization and support engineering project teams on ALM tools related topic such as tool roll out, configuring tools to projects and business needs and training.Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and business.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Excellent time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Job Responsibilities:Provide Tools Support for ALMTroubleshooting issues reported by Users.Responsible to creating new users.Responsible to create new projects.Usage Monitoring and reporting.Quality Center Customization support.Work closely with all engineering domains to support on ALM tool related topics.Support PMT organization to deploy current and new tool suites to engineering projects.Support users by creating tool related scripting and automation of repetitive tasks.Support engineering teams to extract charts and dashboards from the ALM tools.Support Configuration Manger, Change and Problem Resolution manger to monitor and extract audit reports from the ALM tools.Pilot new tools, perform tests with IT organization before upgrade or new tool roll out.Monitoring.Support multiple projects across different time zones.Administrative tasks for Application MaintenanceMigration of projects to latest version of the applicationNew patch implementationValidation and verification of the upgraded environment and projectsMicrofocus QC /ALM / Octane project creation and maintenanceMonitor and proactive management of centralized shared tools services such as license servers, databases, application services and infrastructure that underpins these.Integration with other Microfocus and 3rd Party tools with QC / ALM / OctaneAdministrative tasks for implementing ALM functionality.Experience implementing new functionality.Customization and configuration of the project as per the project requirement (user roles, project entities, Alerts, Workflows etc.)Designing and developing workflows and configurationsDevelopment of template projects and cross project customizationCustomizing within the dashboard/reporting moduleIdentify, analyze, and mitigate project and operational risks.Ability to coordinate activities with various technical teams (network, database, and architecture) to structure solutions.Development and communication of tool usage and best practicesUnderstanding and developing SQL queriesKnowledge of macro creationAbility to handle multiple priorities and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.Ability to think of new solutions and be proactive to go with a can-do attitude.Proven verbal and written skills to communicate/report both technical and non-technical audiences.Must Have Skills, Experience:ALM Tools Expertise : Strong experience with ALM tools like Microfocus QC, ALM, or Octane, including tool setup, customization, and maintenance.Tool Configuration & Customization : Ability to configure user roles, entities, workflows, alerts, dashboards, and reporting modules to meet project-specific requirements.Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Proficiency in identifying and resolving issues related to ALM tools, including user access, system performance, and integration problems.SQL & Scripting Skills : Knowledge of SQL for querying data and experience with scripting to automate tasks within ALM tools.Project Rollout & Integration : Experience in deploying and integrating ALM tools across multiple projects, including managing upgrades, patches, and migrations.Cross-functional Collaboration : Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, project managers, and IT departments to ensure smooth tool deployment and usage.Communication & Training : Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear instructions, training, and updates to users and stakeholders.Monitoring & Reporting : Experience in monitoring tool usage, generating reports, and ensuring optimal performance of ALM tools across projects.Risk Management : Ability to assess and mitigate risks related to tool usage and project performance.Time Management & Multitasking : Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects across different time zones and ensure timely execution.Leadership Expectations:Champion Inclusion: Embrace individual differences and create an environment of support, belonging and trust.
