We are hiring a Client Strategy Lead to own client strategy, guide merchant growth, and convert that growth into durable, profitable work for Softlimit.This role owns the strategic relationship and is the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients. You are accountable for helping clients make better decisions, adopt the right platform and partner solutions, and move forward with initiatives that materially improve their business and expand our engagement over time.This is not project management and not passive account maintenance. This is senior client ownership with commercial accountability. This role ensures that strategy, execution, and client expectations stay aligned from planning through launch.Role MissionOwn client strategy and long term success for a portfolio of Shopify merchants. Translate business goals into clear roadmaps, then translate roadmaps into scoped initiatives that drive measurable client growth and expansion revenue for Softlimit.Core ResponsibilitiesClient Strategy OwnershipAct as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor for a portfolio of Shopify merchants, owning the senior relationship end to end.Lead quarterly planning and ongoing prioritization tied to business outcomes.Bring clarity to complex situations and help clients focus on the highest impact work.Growth and Opportunity DevelopmentIdentify opportunities to improve conversion, retention, AOV, lifecycle performance, and operational efficiency.Package opportunities into clear initiative briefs that define the problem, options, effort, and expected impact.Partner with Solutions, UX, and Development to turn validated opportunities into scoped work.Retention and ExpansionOwn account health and renewal readiness across your portfolio.Drive expansion through thoughtful roadmapping and timing, not pushy upsells.Advocate for the client while protecting scope, focus, and delivery quality.Shopify Platform and Partner AdoptionStay fluent in Shopify platform capabilities and the ecommerce ecosystem.Recommend Shopify features and partner tools when they solve real constraints.Drive adoption to live, implemented, and used, not just recommended.Project Health and Launch ReadinessMaintain visibility into project health from kickoff through launch.Partner closely with Project Managers to identify risk, misalignment, or scope pressure early.Own client facing communication when projects are at risk, including expectation setting and decision framing.Ensure launches align with original business intent, not just task completion.Executive CommunicationLead QBRs, planning sessions, and executive level conversations.Align founders, operators, and internal teams around priorities and tradeoffs.Keep communication focused, structured, and outcome oriented.What This Role Is NotNot responsible for day to day task management or ticket updates.Not responsible for detailed production scheduling or QA.Not responsible for billing operations or invoicing.Responsible for project outcomes, not project mechanics.What We’re Looking ForPrior experience as a Client Strategy Lead, Account Director, Merchant Success Manager, or similar senior client role.Strong familiarity with Shopify and ecommerce growth levers.Solid commercial instincts and comfort scoping and prioritizing work.Ability to challenge clients constructively and guide decisions.Clear, confident communicator at founder and VP level.Calm, ownership driven leadership style.Reporting and CollaborationReports directly to the Founder.Partners closely with Project Managers, Designers, Developers, and Solutions.Works directly with client leadership teams.How Success Is MeasuredRetention and expansion across your portfolio.Consistent delivery of strategic roadmaps and QBRs.Clear, qualified expansion pipeline driven by client needs.Client trust, clarity, and momentum.Location and CompensationRemote, US or Canada.Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience.
