Terminal Operations Assistant Harvey, IL Pay Rate- $21 to 22 hourly (DOE) Job Summary: The Terminal Operations Assistant at Parsec, Inc.'s intermodal rail terminal is responsible for efficiently and accurately checking inbound and outbound unit numbers on Trains while also checking for damages and notifying and documenting all findings. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Voluntary Benefits Paid Weekly Paid Time Off (After probationary period) Opportunity for growth Key Responsibilities: Terminal Operations Assistant Check Inbound Unit Numbers for accuracy and Inspect Units on Train for Damage. Check Outbound Units on Trains for accuracy and (SOP) for proper loading per the Railroads guidelines. Help Management locate specific units for outbound trains (Vessels, old dwelling units, Grain loads, etc.) Double check Outbound Container piles for accuracy and segregation Assist Management with the transportation of employees throughout the Terminal. Help management complete train paperwork (sending to railroad, double checking completion with all signatures required, and proper filing) Assist management with any task that helps improve the overall velocity of the Terminal Assist management by identifying the highest Dwelling Drivers throughout the terminal to get serviced quickly. Documentation and Recordkeeping: Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors. Monitor and report any security concerns, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to intermodal rail terminal operations. Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s license Previous experience as a clerk or in a similar role within the intermodal rail or logistics industry is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using computer systems and data entry software. Basic knowledge of transportation and logistics operations. Familiarity with relevant safety and security regulations. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
