Position Type:Student Support Services/Special Services - Speech PathologistDate Posted:1/7/2026Location:Alma Schrader ElementaryJob Title: Speech Language PathologistTerms of Employment: 9-month contract; 183 daysFLSA Status: ExemptReports to: Assistant Superintendent for Special ServicesBrief Description of Position:Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, the Speech Pathologist is responsible for screening, assessing and identifying students with communication disorders which adversely affect their educational progress. The Speech Pathologist will develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student's educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives.Required Qualifications:A master's degree or any combination equivalent to a master's degree in the area of speech-language pathology from an accredited program in speech-language therapy, and all other requirements set forth by DESEValid Missouri teaching certificationExcellent oral and written communication skillsSkills in human relations, leadership and conflict management.Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of studentsDemonstrate skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets and data basesExperience in formative assessments, cooperative learning techniques, and data analysisDesired Qualifications:Working knowledge of Professional Learning CommunitiesDemonstrated experience and skill in teamwork, coaching and/or mentoringEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepares, adapts, and delivers instructional materials to meet the unique needs of each individual student.Adapts curricula and uses research-based teaching methods based on assessment of students' needs.Evaluates student academic and behavioral progress using specific assessments for hearing impaired students.Supervises student in classrooms, school buildings, and social-curricular actives.Develops educational plans for the individual student based on accepted and approved research and the standards established by the Missouri Department of Education.Infuses transition goals such as study, work, and social-curricular activities,Creates and maintains student data, and prepares reports relative to the work.Selects appropriate texts, learning aids, materials, and supplies.Participates in teacher training, as required.Plans and participates in extra-curricular student and staff activities.Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the workPerforms related work as assigned.Attachment(s):2025-2026 Salary Schedule.pdfSpeech Language Pathologist Job Description.pdf
