Rough Carpenter Apprentice

Position Overview Handley Construction is seeking a Residential Construction Apprentice to join our team building high-quality custom homes and additions throughout the Walla Walla Valley. This position is designed for individuals who want to develop skills in residential construction while working alongside experienced carpenters. Apprentices assist with the structural phases of construction including site preparation, ICF foundation installation, framing, roofing, and siding. This role offers the opportunity to learn professional building practices and grow into higher-level carpentry positions within the company. Primary Responsibilities Site Preparation Assist with site setup and footing excavation Help prepare trenches and forms for concrete footings Move materials and maintain a clean jobsite ICF Foundations Assist in stacking and cutting ICF blocks Help install bracing systems Assist with rebar placement and foundation preparation Framing Help build and raise framed walls Install sheathing, blocking, and framing components Learn proper layout and measurement techniques Roofing Assist with installing roof sheathing and underlayment Help stage and move roofing materials Support installation of roofing systems Exterior Work Assist with siding installation and exterior trim Install weather barriers and flashing materials Help maintain consistent exterior quality Pay: $17.50 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: On-the-job training Paid time off Professional development assistance Tools provided Work Location: In person
