Job Title : Senior Application Developer / Java backend developer Rate: $60-67/hr on Vendor W2 Duration: 18 Months Location: Newark, DE- Remote/Hybrid (3 days onsite required) Submission Guidelines: Must include current and intended location on resume. Position Summary We are seeking an Application Architect / Senior Application Developer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE, cloud technologies, Kafka, AI, and Machine Learning, along with experience in monitoring tools like Dynatrace. Key Responsibilities Application & Development: Design and develop applications using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Integration, and RESTful services. Build and manage containerized applications using OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Implement messaging and streaming solutions using Kafka, MQ, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra. Develop front-end interfaces using Angular or React. Write complex SQL queries and Unix/Linux scripts as needed. Automation & DevOps: Work with monitoring and scheduling tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Autosys. Ensure code quality using JUnit, Sonar, Crucible, and best practices in CI/CD pipelines. Apply Agile methodology to plan, develop, test, and deploy applications efficiently. Project & Team Work: Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Contribute to architecture discussions and technology strategy. Assist in mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance. Required Skills / Must-Haves Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, WebSphere Oracle backend and SQL Kafka, MQ, RESTful services, WS-Security OpenShift, Kubernetes, containerization Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure Unix/Linux scripting Tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ, Splunk, Dynatrace, Autosys Front-end: Angular, React Code quality tools: JUnit, Sonar/Crucible Desired / Nice-to-Have Skills AI / Machine Learning integration experience Experience with NoSQL databases Advanced monitoring and application performance tuning Familiarity with security/authentication mechanisms like JWT, SSL certificates, and session management Technical Questions / Sample Topics Programming & Development: Sort an array by the first character while maintaining insertion order for duplicates. Read a text file and count increments/decrements in numeric values per line. Merge and sort two integer arrays. Write logic to sort transactions by amount. SQL queries to find repeating records.
