Internal Medicine Physician Outpatient Precepting RoleLocation: ConnecticutAssignment Dates: June 22, 2026 December 31, 2026Schedule: Monday Friday, 1:00 PM 5:00 PMCoverage Type: Locum TenensPosition OverviewWe are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physician with strong primary care experience to provide outpatient clinical support in a resident training environment. This role focuses on supervising and mentoring residents while ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and teach internal medicine residents during outpatient clinic sessionsPrecept patient encounters and co-manage care with residentsPerform direct patient evaluations when appropriate, especially with junior traineesProvide real-time verbal feedback and complete written evaluations in a timely mannerOversee clinical workflow, including inbox management, prescription refills, and follow-upsCollaborate with another attending physician during clinic sessionsPatient VolumeApproximately patients per half-day sessionTypically 5 6 learners per session, depending on training levelCall ScheduleShared call rotation approximately 1:3Residents take first call; attending provides backup support as neededRequirementsBoard-certified or board-eligible in Internal MedicineActive and unrestricted medical licensePrior primary care experience requiredExperience working with residents or in a teaching/precepting role preferredWork EnvironmentOutpatient clinic settingCollaborative, team-based care modelAcademic-style environment with a focus on education and mentorshipCompensation DetailsDaily overtime applicable after 8 hoursWeekly overtime applicable after 168 hours
