We are currently looking for a Sanitation Technician to join our growing team!
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for cleaning, light maintenance and organization of the Laboratory. Oversee overall organization, cleanliness and disinfecting of work areas, restrooms and break areas. Refill supplies as applicable. Ensure building is visitor ready each day.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs cleaning of equipment, processing areas, and support areas using appropriate procedures
Performs all needed sanitary requirements of equipment, processing areas, outside grounds, restroom facilities, and trash removal from production areas
Sweeps, wipes, scrubs, sanitizes, washes, and picks up as required to keep building, grounds, and equipment clean and sanitary.
Properly wears personal protective equipment as required. Wears appropriate clothing in accordance with company standards
Ensures safe and proper use of tools and equipment; ensures hand tools are free of defects; maintains neat and orderly work area, including proper storage/disposal of cleaners, sanitizers, and other cleaning chemicals
Maintains current work knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures
Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
Reports maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
May assist with minor maintenance projects as needed
Communicates/coordinates with other departments to ensure efficient utilization of time
Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and other work rules
Follow all health and safety regulations as well as FSNS policies and protocols
Assisting with managing priorities and schedule such that individual goals as well as team goals are achieved with encouraged participation in the Food Safety Net Services Team
Responsible for the safety of oneself and others working within their area
Responsible for the completion of required training
Mixes water and detergents or acids in container to prepare cleaning solution according to specifications
Washes, rinses, dries, and sterilizes glassware and instruments
Scrubs walls, floors, shelves, tables, and sinks
Delivers supplies to designated work areas
Supplies laboratory with distilled water
Maintains inventory reports and logs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
or one to three months related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components
Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens
Noise level varies from quiet to loud
Temperature varies from hot to cold
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
