Aquatics Supervisor (Temporary)

DescriptionAssist in all facets of supervising the Aiken County Recreation Center, particularly in regard to the aquatics program. Position will work many evenings and weekends. Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.Examples of DutiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise as many as thirteen (13) certified aquatics personnel.Remain updated on current Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) regulations concerning use and storage of chemicals, operation of the pool and the equipment vital to its use.Will be responsible for the upkeep of all mechanical systems associated with the pool, including preventative and seasonal maintenance.Oversee all scheduling and safety inspections of the pool.Oversee all scheduling of swim lessons and develop a curriculum per Red Cross standards.Position will be under the direct supervision of the Recreation Manager. Acts as, and has the authority of, the Recreation Manager in the Recreation Manager's absence.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & ABILITIES:Pool maintenance is a must.Must have good communication skills, as well as a willingness to work with the public.Must have organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy.Computer skills and strong supervisory skills preferred.Typical QualificationsMINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Prefer college graduate with recreation and/or supervisory experience.Must possess current certification as a Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, and in Advanced First Aid (minimum).Must have experience in the operation of an institutional or commercial pool.Must attain a Certification in Pool and Spa Operators course prior to ending probationary status.
