Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic Coordinator Cape Fear Valley Pediatric EndocrinologyLocation: Fayetteville, North CarolinaDepartment: Pediatric EndocrinologyJob Family: Clinics - OutpatientWork Shift: Days (United States of America)Summary: Ensure optimum patient flow through the office; accurate and prompt submission of invoices to billing/collection department; initiation and maintenance of medical records; accurate, efficient scheduling of patient visits and accurate entry of ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for patient charge and documentation purposes; accurate transcription of non-medical dictation; timely submission of reports.Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Register patients expediently while obtaining accurate information; schedule patient appointments for initial and follow-up visits and proceduresEnsure the completion of new patient information and update information for the medical recordReceive calls regarding appointments; determine the appropriate provider, length, and type of appointment; schedule appointments accuratelyCollect monies from patients in payment of bill or insurance deductible and co-payment on outpatient accounts; document receipts; prepare cash report at day's endOrder all outside tests requested by the doctor; schedule patient appointments, confirmEnter ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding patient activity information, procedures into data processing system dailyTranscribe all non-medical dictationSubmit billing invoices to billing/collection department daily, under the supervision of the Physician Billing ManagerFile, fax and/or mail reports and recordsCompile and submit month end reports in a timely mannerAssists in tracking supply inventory. Notifies Office Supervisor/Coordinator when supplies need to be reorderedServe as receptionist, greeting and directing patients, answering phone in a manner that supports Clinic Guest Relations PolicyAssists as required in non-invasive medical procedures or as security observerAs possible, knows where administrative/medical staff can be located and directs emergency messagesOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent requiredWork Experience: 1 year of clerical experience required1 year of medical business office or significant public contact preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge of medical terminologyPC skills preferredType 45-55 words per minute accuratelyTact and ability to deal with patients under stressGood planning and organizational abilitiesSpeaking and hearing is necessary to converse with the publicKnowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for Part B billables preferredPhysical Requirements: Ability to see and read printed data and monitor screensManual dexterityVisual and auditory acuity to collect informationVerbal communications skillsAbility to lift, stoop, bend, kneel, reachRequired Licenses and CertificationsCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
