Position Summary
The Physician provides comprehensive occupational health and urgent care services, applying evidence-based medical principles to diagnose, treat, and manage work-related injuries and illnesses. This role partners closely with clinical staff and leadership to ensure exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat work-related injuries, illnesses, and urgent care conditions
Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in accordance with company policies
Collaborate with medical and administrative staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care and customer service
Support management in identifying, analyzing, and resolving operational or clinical challenges
Evaluate existing clinical practices and recommend improvements to enhance care quality and efficiency
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, corporate policies, and quality standards
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical medical practices
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and assist in resolving clinical issues
Communicate staff feedback, concerns, and suggestions to the Medical Director
Support clinical staff in understanding and adhering to policies and procedures
Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant professional affiliations
Skills
Extensive experience with EHR systems (Electronic Health Records) including Epic or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and diagnostic radiology procedures.
Proficiency in performing clinical procedures like suturing, catheterization, wound care, and airway management.
In-depth understanding of specialties including psychiatry, cardiology, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), pediatrics, oncology, and infectious disease care.
Ability to operate medical equipment such as ventilators, neonatal ventilators, radiation therapy devices, and ultrasound machines.
Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and health coaching.
Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD coding), discharge planning, and documentation standards to ensure compliance. Strong knowledge of occupational medicine practices and work-related injuries and illnesses
Familiarity with applicable medical regulations, policies, and procedures
Proficiency with medical equipment and clinical documentation
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Education & Licensure
Graduation from an accredited medical school
Active and unrestricted Physician license in the state of practice
NRCME Certification (required or ability to obtain)
Experience
Prior experience in Occupational Medicine preferred
Background in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Practice considered
