Employees are encouraged to contribute to a collaborative environment where attention to detail and reliability are essential.Role Description The Permit Clerk will be responsible for coordinating and tracking permit applications for residential and commercial projects. This position works closely with municipalities and inspectors to streamline projects efficiently through the application and approval process. Responsibilities include:·      Track permit status, approvals, and project deadlines ·      Communicate and coordinate with individuals and municipalities regarding permit requirements and code enforcement·      Prepare and submit permits, applications and certificates ·      Maintain organized permit records·      Schedule inspections and maintain inspection reports·      Assist inspectors with administrative tasks·      Update internal and external databases with permit information ·      Prepare reports and communicate updates QualificationsStrong administrative and organizational skills, including document preparation, data entry, and records management.Ability to read, understand, and follow municipal, county, and state permit requirements and basic technical documents.Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with applicants and residents and clients.Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools) and comfort working with digital filing systems.High attention to detail and accuracy when completing forms, reviewing documentation, and updating tracking logs.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.Previous experience in permitting, construction administration or municipal offices, or is beneficial.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or an associate degree in business, administration, or a related field is a plus.Willingness to learn permitting processes, local regulations, and internal procedures with guidance from senior staff.
