Benefits Specialist
Position Title: Benefits SpecialistLocation: Hybrid – Arlington, VA (2 days onsite / 3 days remote)Other Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required) Position SummaryThe Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering and supporting employee benefit programs. In this role you will serve as a primary point of contact for employees, ensure accurate benefit administration in ADP Workforce Now, and support compliance with benefit‑related requirements.ResponsibilitiesAdminister employee benefit programs across the full employee lifecycleAdminister all benefits activity in ADP Workforce NowProcess benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and on timeServe as the primary contact for employee questions related to benefits and eligibilityMonitor and respond to the Benefits inbox ina timelyand professional mannerSupport new hire onboarding by explaining benefit options and enrollment stepsAssistwith coordination and support of annual open enrollment, including system setup, testing, and employee communicationsPartner with Payroll to ensure benefit deductions areaccurateand alignedReview benefit vendor invoices for accuracy, escalate, andassistwith resolving discrepanciesWork with benefit vendors and brokers to resolve enrollment, eligibility, or claims issuesMaintainaccurateandup‑to‑dateemployee benefit recordsAssistwith benefit audits, reporting, and data reconciliationEnsure benefit practices align with company policies and compliance requirementsMaintain benefits documentation and employee resourcesMonitor and review HRIS benefits data feed files for errors or discrepanciesEscalate complex, sensitive, or unresolved benefits issues to the HR Operations Manager as appropriateQualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience3–5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR roleExperience using ADP Workforce Now, including the Benefits moduleExperience administering a wide range of employee benefits, including: Medical, dental, and vision plansHealth Savings Accounts (HSA)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Life and disability insuranceRetirement plansOtherancillary or voluntary benefitsWorking knowledge of benefits compliance requirements, including ACA, COBRA, and ERISAExperience supporting open enrollmentend‑to‑endStrong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential informationAbility toclearly and patiently explain benefit informationto employeesProficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePointPreferred QualificationsHR or benefits certification (CBP, PHR, SHRM‑CP)WORKING CONDITIONSStandard Business hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
