Software Quality Assurance Tester - Onsite - Downtown HTX

We're looking for a QA Software Tester in Houston! This is a contract position, there is potential for the role to go perm in the future.Job Description:Review and clarify business and technical requirements for software applications.Gain expert knowledge of business processes and supporting applications.Plan and execute tests for new and existing software applications.Perform all necessary tests, including functionality, performance, and usability. Track testing progress and results.Develop and support tools for rapid, repeatable test execution.Automate test scenarios to reduce time and cost, improving coverage and depth.Collaborate with the development team to address and track software defects.Ensure development and quality standards are defined and monitored.Address post-release software issues and expedite fixes with the development team.Additional tasks as needed to maintain high-quality applications.Experience:5+ years in leading/managing testing efforts for large enterprise/IT projects.Knowledge of runtime memory analysis and code profiling tools (preferred).Strong IT and networking skills: load balancing, networking, Active Directory, .NET applications, middleware, virtualization (e.g., VMware vSphere).Proficient in SQL, with the ability to create queries and handle data for testing.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with developers, DBAs, and analysts.Advocate for quality with the ability to detail software issues to development teams.4+ years of programming or test automation development experience.Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS/MIS, or equivalent experience.Please note that you must be eligible to work on W2 without sponsorship/visa transfer.
