Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Aide to join our team in providing high-quality meals for our residents in a hospital or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to food safety and customer service. This role is essential in ensuring that all dietary needs are met while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food handling practices.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook nutritious meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health department regulations. Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents. Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident preferences and dietary restrictions. Participate in training programs related to culinary skills, food safety, and customer service. Maintain accurate records of food preparation, portion sizes, and waste management. RequirementsProven experience as a cook in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff. Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required. Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as needed for food preparation and storage.
