As a Production Technician at Cover, you’ll have the opportunity to quite literally build the future of homes. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, production technicians are responsible for fabricating and assembling components that will be integrated into a Cover home. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to understand various fabrication and assembly techniques and utilize them to produce extraordinarily high-quality finished products. Role Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions, specifications, and test instructions. Perform all manufacturing processes required to build Structure and Interiors assemblies or subassemblies, including fastener installation, electrical wire cutting, pipe cutting, and general mechanical assemblies like installation of switches and outlets, mechanical deck assemblies etc. Ensure parts meet all quality requirements Keep stations and work environment clean, completing 5S tasks at end of shift. Provide documented build feedback to leadership and engineering for process improvements. Identify build blockers and effectively communicate them to leadership Maintain production tooling. Operate equipment in a manner consistent with safety expectations. Must be open to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours minimum. Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces Support quality control and perform some quality checks following the QC templates that engineering would provide as reference Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet aggressive production milestones and deadlines Proficiency in basic computer operations, including navigating an ERP system for work orders. Ability to use Power tools like drills and impact. Ability to climb ladders, or miscellaneous hand tools for assemblies. Comfortable working at heights. Ability to use table saws or hand cutters. Must adhere to mandatory PPE rules depending on task being performed. Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted, stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver comfortably in tight spaces. Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Compensation All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits. The base cash salary for this position ranges from $18.00/hr -$24.00/ hr. Cover’s pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual compensation package offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including the essential functions of the role, experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level, and prior accomplishments.
