Purchasing Manager
About the OpportunityVenturity is partnering with one of our clients to hire a proactive and detailed Purchasing Manager to own purchasing activities and ERP‑driven workflows that support our manufacturing operations. We are open to high‑performing junior buyers (3–5 years of experience) who demonstrate strong potential, a growth mindset, and the ability to take increasing ownership over time.This role is critical to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials and packaging components and will assume responsibilities currently handled by a senior team member. It is a hands‑on, on‑site position requiring close collaboration with manufacturing and operations teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect ownership of vendor relationships, sourcing strategy, and purchasing execution.Manage all purchasing activities for raw materials, including chemicals, oils, specialty ingredients, bottles, and packaging Source raw materials and packaging components to support liquid product manufacturingExecute purchase orders and manage supplier relationships to ensure materials align with production schedulesManaged end-to-end purchasing cycles (forecasting, sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and replenishment) Navigated supplier negotiations and cost controls independentlyAct as a primary user of the ERP system (Fishbowl preferred) for purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing‑related workflowsPartner closely with manufacturing and operations teams to support blending, filling, and packaging activitiesMaintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor data within the ERP systemMonitor material availability and proactively address supply issues before they impact productionIdentify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, ERP workflows, and supplier performanceGradually assume purchasing and ERP‑related responsibilities currently handled by a senior internal stakeholder, with the opportunity to grow scope and ownership over timeQualificationsMinimum: 7 years total experience, 3+ years managing purchasing Ideal: 8–10+ years total experience with closely aligned industry exposureExperience purchasing chemicals for cosmetics, hygiene, or personal care products is strongly preferredExperience with packaging components is a plusExperience working within an ERP system to support purchasing and manufacturing operationsFishbowl ERP experience is highly preferred, but not required for high‑potential candidatesDemonstrated growth mindset, strong work ethic, and desire to take on increasing responsibilityComfortable working in a fast‑paced, on‑site manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesBilingual skills are a plusMust be able to work full‑time on‑site; remote work is not an optionWhat We’re Looking ForThis role is ideal for a purchasing professional who wants to grow into broader ownership, understands how purchasing directly impacts manufacturing execution, and is motivated to develop into a long‑term operational leader within a manufacturing organization.Safeguard Laboratories is a trusted partner in high‑quality liquid product manufacturing, offering end‑to‑end capabilities from custom formulation and testing to high‑capacity blending, filling, and packaging.
