Small Engine Technician

Job Description Full job descriptionPurpose:Performs basic maintenance work, diagnostics, and service repairs on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians.Responsibilities:Performs basic diagnostics and repair on outdoor power equipment and small diesel tractors for John Deere and competitive productsPerforms basic diagnostics and repair on 4-cycle, 2-cycle and diesel enginesAccountable for billable time and assigned work ordersResponsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of informationMay participate in John Deere, Briggs, Ferris, and Stihl training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeOperates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilitiesMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere, Ferris, Stihl, and competitive productsExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:1+ years of experience performing service repairs using special tools and following Technical Manual proceduresBasic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in outdoor power equipmentMust have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilitiesAbility to look up parts and basic computer functionsAbility to safely operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredValid drivers license is requiredFork lift experience preferredBenefits:Paid Health InsuranceDental & Vision Insurance Options AvailablePaid VacationPaid HolidaysEmployee DiscountsCompetitive WageOvertime OpportunitiesBonus OpportunitiesEducation OpportunitiesJob Type: Full-timeCompany DescriptionWorking at Boone's Power Equipment in Brookville, Ohio, means joining a stable, family-oriented team with over 60 years of industry leadership.
