Inventory & Purchasing Manager
Job Overview Are you a detail-oriented supply chain professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a dynamic Inventory & Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations and keep our service and installation teams equipped for success. In this vital role, you will oversee end-to-end purchasing, inventory management, and warehouse logistics—ensuring high efficiency, vendor cost-savings, and seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Vendor Relations
• Issue detailed purchase orders for service and installation jobs, ensuring accurate job numbers and tracking.
• Continuously benchmark vendor prices to negotiate competitive rates, maximize profitability, and process credits/returns for damaged goods.
• Coordinate equipment and material deliveries directly with the Production Manager to guarantee project deadlines are met.
• Manage active purchase orders, back-orders, and weekly warranty/credit returns.
Inventory Control & Operations
• Maintain the digital Inventory and Purchase Order modules, adding new stock items and tracking material allocations.
• Supervise morning material loading to ensure field crews and trucks have the correct equipment every day.
• Perform routine physical inventory audits across central warehouse locations, tool rooms, and field trucks.
• Oversee tool room sign-outs, tool repairs, and routine maintenance for small power tools.
• Keep the warehouse and parts room structured, clean, and organized for optimal workflow.
• Serve as primary operational support during Warehouse Foreman coverage windows.
Teamwork & Growth
• Attend weekly company training sessions to expand industry knowledge and operational skills.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support broader business goals as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: 5+ years in purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control (preferably in HVACR or construction).
• Education: Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, HVAC, Industrial Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) and inventory management software.
• Industry Insight: Solid understanding of HVACR economic, fiscal, and seasonal trends.
• Key Competencies: Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under high-pressure, fast-paced conditions.
• Requirements: Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
