Project Application Engineer

Position OverviewOur team is currently looking for Project Application Engineer-Industrial Systems for one of our clients in the Industrial Industry. This position will define project system requirements and develop system specifications for Industrial Systems projectsResponsibilities & Essential DutiesDevelop detail system specifications for drive, motor, transformer, switchgear, sensor and automation equipment suppliers through collaboration with mechanical original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and end-user clients, per the contract and global industry standards, to ensure high quality designs and on-time deliveryEnsure “as shipped” systems meet all client requirements as defined in the project contract, including system specifications and performance guarantees, while achieving business goals and objectivesConduct power system studies to ensure that the existing or proposed system is adequate to meet requirements of new equipment while meeting applicable global and local utility standardsEvaluate supplier proposals to determine the best technical and most cost-effective solution for the applicationManage equipment costs, recommending cost reductions when feasiblePrepare purchase specifications and ERP requisition in a timely manner to support the project scheduleConduct detailed design reviews, internally and externally, with suppliers and clientsProvide timely technical guidance to internal and external clients and suppliers as required to ensure total project requirements are metProvide technical and costing information for the preparation of technical proposals, using client specifications and knowledge of Company solutionsProvide technical consultation to assist clients in specifying solutions to technology challenges that result in projects for the CompanyCreate a network of relationships with clients, mechanical OEM’s, and suppliers for successful project execution and to build a pipeline of potential business within the Industrial Systems market.Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences and client meetings at client sites or other locations as specified or necessaryIdentify and recommend new applications and/or new products to drive business opportunities & new marketsProvide project management services as assignedBring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by managerGive manager best adviceGive earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by managerExemplify Company Core Values: Integrity, Client Focus, Team Orientation, and Personal CommitmentComply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and lawsRecommend viable improvements proactivelyEnsure effective utilization of business tools and processes Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering with control automation coursework, mechatronics, computer engineering or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience2 years' related work experience in specifying, designing, commissioning, and/or maintaining industrial drive, automation, and control systems for complex coordinated industrial systems applications required5 years' related work experience in specifying, designing, commissioning, and/or maintaining industrial drive, automation, and control systems for complex coordinated industrial system application preferred Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of industrial VFDs, motors, transformers, switchgears, sensorsDemonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as NEC, IEC, IEEEDemonstrated negotiation skillsDemonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contactsDemonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skillsDemonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibilityProficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and VisioAvailability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 15%, occasionally with limited noticeGlobal Edge Group LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
