Sales Director

Position Summary: Responsible for sheet molding compound (SMC) material sales to outside molders. Manage all existing accounts as well as expand customer base. Familiar with industry contacts, concepts, practices and procedures. Reports to Regional Director of SMC Operations. Essential Job Functions: Develop and deliver the SMC Sales growth strategy Identify and develop customers for SMC material sales Coordinate material sales and technical service to existing customers Deliverables: - SMC Compound sales forecasts and budgets - SMC Compound sales performance reports - Technical service reports Responsible for overall quote preparation, explanation and justification using knowledge of internal development, manufacturing, and logistics costs. Interacts with SMC Compounding Plants, Molding Technical Service Team, and Materials Development Team to coordinate, project, and plan for current and future support requirements in design, analysis, materials R&D, testing illustration and other product related areas. Ensures all orders, quotes, and other requirements are processed in customer’s and company systems in an accurate and timely manner. Communicate regarding raw material requirements and costing with Purchasing group. Directs customer interface/communication to meet all Sales, Service and Marketing needs. Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met. Responsible for scheduling/facilitating quarterly reviews with Key accounts. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related disciplines is required. Candidates who may not have the specified degree but possess a comparable level of knowledge and experience gained through other means, such as extensive relevant work experience, certifications, or training in the field may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of sales, marketing, engineering, and/or manufacturing experience in the automotive, heavy truck and/or marine industry is required. Demonstrated knowledge of automotive industry requirements and procedures is required. Experience working in compression molding of composite materials is preferred. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects including extensive communication and coordination between customers and internal departments is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time (Customers located throughout the US and Mexico).
