Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Take dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures for patients
Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve procedure efficiency
Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and updating records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on dental procedures, oral health care, and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology
Maintain an organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines
Assist with dental imaging documentation and coding for insurance purposes when necessary
Support the dental reception team with administrative tasks as needed
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental setting is highly preferred
Proficiency with systems such as Open Dental
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices is essential
Experience with cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral and general dentistry procedures is desirable
Certification in dental assisting or related fields is a plus but not mandatory for all role
