This is a hybrid work position with some work in the office and the flexibility to do other work at home. Availability for fundraising events in the evening and daytime is required. Position SummaryThe Fundraising and Development Assistant will be responsible for working with the Marketing, Communications and Development Manager to manage the Wonder Works Children’s Museum donor database and execute donor gift acknowledgements. Work with local and national businesses to secure in kind donations for fundraising events. They are also responsible for assisting the Executive Director and the Development Manager with fundraising events including planning and event management. Areas of responsibility include: logging museum donations in the Little Green Light donor management software, executing email and direct mail campaigns, social media content and creative, and fundraising event set up and execution. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative and excellent communicator interested in working with a close-knit team of professionals dedicated to early childhood education and the power of play! This person is an organized individual with fundraising skills. Experience working in donor management software such as Little Green Light, event management software such as OneCause, Google Suite and Google Teams is desired. The candidate should think creatively and proactively, possess strong organizational skills, and apply professional skills to enhance the success of the museum. Essential Job Functions: Fundraising Update Wonder Works donor management database with donations, new donors, and existing donor information.Leverage donor reporting to identify event attendees and donor prospects, generate acknowledgment and invitation mailings, and create donor wall lists. Communicate with local and national businesses to solicit in-kind donations for fundraising events. Assist in management of the fundraising event website, including reporting on ticket and auction sales. Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Wonder Works, its mission, and the power of play!Fulfill other related and similar tasks and duties as assignedQualifications and SkillsProficiency with Little Green Light or other donor databaseProficiency with OneCause or other fundraising event softwareProficiency with Google Suite of products including Slides, Sheets, and Docs.Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task, and ensure timely completion of all projectsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills and comfort with spreadsheetsAttention to detail and problem solving skillsAbility to interact courteously, positively, and collaboratively with colleagues, board members, and donorsExperience and Education ConsiderationsHigh School Degree RequiredCommunications, Public Relations, or Philanthropic studies undergraduate major preferred6+ months of professional experience in a fundraising role requiredAdditional Work Schedule DetailsDonor database and communications management requires availability of frequent small amounts of time in order to communicate in a timely manner. Consistent daily access to email and donor databases is required.
