POSITION: Barcoder DEPT: Shipping and ReceivingReports To: Warehouse ManagerJob Description:Wear appropriate PPE at all timesWork together as a team at all timesCome in to help any time that is needed or when scheduledMust be available to work any shift 12 hoursMust be able to push or pull pallets (with hydraulic pallet jack) weighing 500lbs to 1100lbs.Must be highly motivated and very detailed orientedMust be able to work in fast pace environment and stand for long periods of time.Barcoder is to print out a copy of the orders running in application and acquires a label from the lines to place on each order sheet as a sample check. Check for any errors.This is done at the end of their shift for the incoming barcoder to have.The outgoing barcoder brings the order sheets from their shift to the application manager's office when leaving.Manufacturing will supply their orders to the barcoder at the beginning of their shift with the exception of the egg line ordersManufacturing egg line operators will bring their orders with them when they bring a pallet to the wrapper to be barcoded and take the orders back with themManufacturing will retrieve their orders from the barcoder at the end of their shift.As pallets are brought to the stretch wrapper from either application or manufacturing the barcoder will then print out a barcode for that pallet from the corresponding orderMust match the work order # to the written order # on the pallet. If none is on the pallet, the pallet is to be taken back to the line to have it written on the pallet.As soon as the barcode is printed the barcoder will place one of the daughter tags from the barcode on the side of the pallet before it is stretch wrappedA daughter tag will also be placed on the corresponding order sheet.After the pallet is wrapped the barcode will be placed on the front of the pallet. The barcode on the side of the pallet and the mother barcode must be match to the physical item on the pallet.Example: If the pallet is blanks, the decription should be blank on the barcode. If the pallet is labeled then the name on the label should be on the barcode.It is the barcoders responsibility to place the pallets onto the stretch wrapper, there is occasional cooperation between the barcoder, operators and pallet jackers to make sure this gets done.The barcoder is responsible for keeping the stretch wrapper and area clean and changing out rolls of stretch wrap. Blow the wrapper down daily to maintain the belt clean.The stretch wrap rolls are changed by pushing the release lever just under the top cover of the wrap holding assembly.This will release the roller assembly and allow the empty roll to be removed.Replace the empty roll with a new roll (inside the tube there is an arrow that needs to point up when installed), pull out a 3' section of wrap from the roll, close the roller assembly and insert the open end of the wrap into the rubber fingers of the clamp.The barcoder must communicate with the shift lead in Shipping if there is any issue with the wrapper or with the orders.When taking breaks and lunch, barcoder is to communicate with the consumption person and or Application supervisor to notify them. They are to barcode in the time being.Anytime you are away from the computer for long period of time you are to log off and sign back in when they return to work. This will help track down mistakes.No cell phone allowed.Other tasks to be assigned.
