Job Outsourced Controller - Real Estate Industry Clients

For those looking to make a difference and find a professional home, Wipfli offers a career-defining opportunity.This job offers opportunity to work 100% remote.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job time budgets and job profitabilityProvides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statementsDirect point of contact from real estate investment client engagementsPartners with client from private equity, joint venture, and other investors to maintain and foster relationship with primary focus on real estate industryResearch and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each clientCalculating investor returns, budgeting/forecasting asset performance and prepares financial data for loan covenantsAdvises on cash flow, debt structure and leverageInterested in leveraging data analytics and embracing new technology, including various accounting softwareProvide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teamAdvise client on process improvement in their accounting department and internal controlsMeets with investors to review management reports, and other key performance indicatorsPrepares financial data for loan covenants if applicableMentor and train direct reports to grow in their roles and responsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting8+ years of advanced, hands on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation within the Real Estate industryPrevious public accounting experience preferredMinimum of 2 years supervisory experienceAbility to quickly embrace, adapt and learn new technology that will include various accounting softwaresExperience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online and Sage Intacct preferred but not requiredProven ability to build and manage relationshipsProfessional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred but not requiredDemonstrate the ability to adapt and learn quicklyAdditional DetailsWipfli is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
