OverviewThis job opportunity is located in Philadelphia, PAThis job requires experience with installation, operation and/or testing of multiple ships systems on all class of submarines. Selected individuals will be responsible for performing work in/on electrical systems in accordance with Technical Work Documents (TWDs). Successful candidate should have thorough working knowledge of ships systems and equipment. Candidates must be flexible as well as adaptable in a team environment. The ability to learn and apply manufacturing skills efficiently to complete jobs is desirable.Roles and Responsibilities:Install wire ways supporting cables. In tall cables and electrical components ranging from large power distribution switchboards to small components (can include control, power, electronics systems)Install, tag out, and test ship's lightingHook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures such as hardwire and connectorizationGroom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and also responsible to provide documentation for every job performedTechnicians are provided skills, including Vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary servicesApplicants will be tasked to learn power and data/signal cable splicingBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision401K PlanPaid Vacation and holidaysShift PremiumHealth and Wellness ProgramsSafety Boot Reimbursement ProgramQualificationsRequired:High School Diploma/GED1-10 years of relevant electrical experience or experience in a manufacturing environmentCandidate may be required to train off and on at the Groton, CT and/or Quonset Point, RI facilities as needed.Candidate is required to be available for all shifts, work split and extended shifts and overtime as dictated by needs of the business.Preferred:Technical School or Trades Vocational Training PreferredExperience in the Electrical field and education/training in Electrical workExperience with High Voltage cable installation processes (IBV, insulated suits)Experience with fiber optic cabling (cleaning, splicing, hookup)SkillsSkills/Qualifications:Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings and weekends.
