Lead Supply Chain Engineer
PO Management RoleThis role manages PO health, supplier performance, ERP/MRP planning signals, production planning support, shop floor audits, and paper/document control. Success is measured by material availability, schedule adherence, on-time shipment, inventory accuracy, and audit-ready documentation. Be the company face for the customers and drive relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, place, and manage purchase orders based on demand, lead times, and production priorities. Drive daily PO management: confirmations, expedites, de-expedites, reschedules, cancels, and supplier follow-ups.Partner with production to align material readiness to build schedules; adjust priorities based on shortages and hot orders.Support production planning through daily alignment meetings, shortage triage, and prioritized action lists. Validate work order readiness (materials, tooling/consumables availability, outside processing status).Coordinate the sequence of work based on customer commitments and material constraints. Track and communicate schedule changes, recovery dates, and shipment risks.Coordinate daily shipments to customers: readiness checks, due-date alignment, and ship list prioritization.Prepare and verify shipping documentation (packing slips, labels, certifications/CoC packages as required).Work with carriers or internal logistics to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues.Maintain complete job packets: travelers/routers, inspection records, certs, purchase documentation, and traceability.Ensure paperwork accuracy and readiness for audits and customer requirements (revision control, signatures, stamps).Drive document and Quality cleanup/standardization to reduce errors, rework, and shipment holds.Monitor supplier OTD/OTIF, responsiveness, and delivery reliability; drive corrective actions and recovery plans.Build/maintain KPI reporting (Excel/Power BI as applicable): shortages, past-due POs, supplier OTD, inventory health, shipment performance.Provide clear daily/weekly updates to leadership on constraints, recovery plans, and delivery outlook.Required Qualifications3+ years in supply chain/procurement/material planning and/or production operations in a manufacturing environment.Strong ERP/MRP knowledge and hands-on PO lifecycle management.Experience coordinating shipping, documentation, and shipment readiness in a production setting.Advanced Excel skills; ability to manage trackers, reconcile data, and communicate priorities.Strong cross-functional communication with production, quality, engineering, and suppliers.High attention to detail with strong documentation discipline (audit/traceability mindset).Preferred QualificationsAerospace or regulated manufacturing experience (AS9100/ISO).Power BI/Tableau reporting experience; SQL/data skills a plus.Experience with shop floor audits, 5S/visual management, and WIP/inventory reconciliation.Exposure to S&OP, demand planning, or capacity planning.Core Skills / CompetenciesOwnership mindset and urgency in shortage/shipping recoveryAnalytical problem-solving and strong prioritizationSupplier coordination and follow-up disciplineOperational detail orientation (paperwork, counts, traceability)Ability to work on the shop floor and resolve issues in real timeContinuous improvement mindset and comfort driving process change
