Lifeguard (pt)
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. QUALIFICATIONSMust have current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid, American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Must pass pre-employment testing for lifeguarding skills and knowledge. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be at least 15 years of age. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to the Recreation Supervisor (Aquatics). WORKING CONDITIONS:Must be able to work under adverse conditions for extended periods of time to include: noise, fumes, and hazardous materials. Indoor and outdoor facility, irregular work hours, water and slippery surfaces. Light lifting, and sitting for longer periods of time. Hiring wage: $16.10 Benefits: Sick leave
