Senior Associate, Investment OperationsBoston, MA | Hybrid Schedule | Full-Time | $105,000 – $125,000 Base Salary + Bonus + BenefitsAbout the OpportunityA leading global investment management firm is seeking a Senior Associate, Investment Operations to join one its growing teams. This role sits at the intersection of investment operations, fund accounting, portfolio oversight, and external service provider management, supporting a sophisticated institutional investment platform across global markets and asset classes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, collaborating cross-functionally, and working within a highly analytical and process-driven investment environment. The position offers broad exposure to fund operations, onboarding, portfolio accounting, regulatory reporting, and operational strategy initiatives within a collaborative and intellectually curious organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio & Fund OversightOversee portfolio accounting, custody, and middle-office activities across client portfolios and investment fundsInvestigate and resolve operational discrepancies across internal systems and external service providersPartner with custodians, counterparties, prime brokers, and external vendors to support account maintenance and operational workflowsSupport fund launches, collateral activities, trading operations, and operational issue resolutionReconcile operational reports and address inquiries from internal and external stakeholdersAccount Onboarding & AdministrationCoordinate onboarding activities for separately managed accounts and investment fundsPrepare and maintain account documentation, operational records, and internal system setupsAct as a liaison between operations, compliance, fund accounting, and external partners throughout onboarding processesFund Administration & ReportingSupport fund expense management, budgeting, accruals, invoice review, and payment processesAssist with regulatory, compliance, tax, and audit-related reporting requirementsPartner with auditors, administrators, and service providers to support financial statement preparation and operational reviewsAssist with operational and tax reporting requests including K-1s, Form 5500, and other investor reporting requirementsOperational Strategy & Process ImprovementIdentify and implement workflow enhancements to improve operational scalability, controls, and efficiencySupport operational governance initiatives and risk reduction efforts across systems and processesParticipate in strategic operational projects involving automation, data quality improvement, and process optimizationCollaborate with internal teams to improve operational infrastructure and client servicing capabilitiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related field preferred7+ years of experience within investment operations, fund accounting, portfolio operations, or related financial services environmentsStrong understanding of portfolio accounting, fund operations, custody relationships, and investment operational workflowsExperience supporting institutional investment products, separately managed accounts, or investment funds preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external service providersAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredExperience with portfolio accounting systems such as Geneva, Advent, or similar platforms preferredExposure to Tableau or data visualization tools is a plusCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range of $105,000 – $125,000 plus bonus opportunityComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer contributionHybrid work flexibilityCollaborative and intellectually driven team environmentOpportunity to support complex global investment operations and strategic initiativesStrong long-term career growth potential within a highly respected investment organization
