SUMMARY: This position will be a production support role focused first in Shipping and Receiving, but be expanded into other production support roles as directed by the Supervisor of Production Support Processes and lead support personnel in areas assigned. Driving approximately 3 days a week is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Shipping & Receiving activities in coordination with the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator.
Support the prioritization and inspection of incoming materials and components to achieve a 48-hour goal of dock to stock processing.
Support the coordination of outside service shipments and pick-ups by driving the Company Van.
Support the efforts to streamline processes to drive lean operations and results.
Support and coordinate inventory control processes to serve the production efforts.
Other support functions as assigned that may include laser part marking, movement of materials and components, expediting of materials and shipments to serve production and customer needs, etc.
Develop working knowledge of areas of production, their needs and issues, in preparation for potential future assignments.
Other miscellaneous duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a high school education.
Ability to learn inspection and ERP system functions.
One year of manufacturing-related experience.
Desire to grow, develop, and support within a manufacturing environment
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping. May require crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 35 pounds using proper lifting techniques and other available safety equipment and measures.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to drive the Company Van locally in all weather conditions to support customer needs.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
While on the shop floor, you must wear safety glasses.
