Section SupervisorThis position is a supervisory role, responsible for the safe production of coal and the installation and movement of equipment and machinery that supports coal production.Target Responsibilities:Must adhere to core values including Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous ImprovementEnsure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all work performedMust safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mineMust be able to safely operate underground mining equipmentSupervise sections that may include longwall, continuous miner, construction, belt and/or out-by work. May provide supervision for de-gas activitiesPerforms key supervisory responsibilities such as goal setting, planning, training and performance evaluation. Communicates changes and company policies and procedures to employeesCoordinates and communicates with engineering, maintenance and other departments or shifts as needed to maintain an efficient and safe operationMay perform the duties of other production, operations or maintenance foreman. May assume the duties of the shift foreman due to absenceMust ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible mannerResponsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areasRequires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligationsMust comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standardsMinimum Requirements:Must be 18 years of ageRequires certification by Pennsylvania as one of the following: Mine Examiner, Assistant Mine Foreman, or as a mine foreman for underground Bituminous Coal MinesRequires Pennsylvania Experienced Miner CertificateMust be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requiresMust be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shiftMust be able to work a shift rotationMust be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a teamMust be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demandsMust be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by jobMust be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategiesPreferred Qualifications:Supervisory/management skills and experienceSpecialty certification or experience
